Who is this training for?
This Online Harms Training is designed for young people to help them understand and respond to the risks they may face online - from influencers and scams to misinformation and manipulation - through interactive, age-appropriate sessions. The training is free for schools and community organisations across London.
What will the Online Harms Training for Young People cover?
The training is continuously refreshed with the latest research and young people’s voices, to ensure the content is relevant, practical, and directly applicable to young people’s lives.
The training will help young people to:
Build their knowledge and confidence to navigate online risks safely, from scams and influencers to misinformation and manipulation.
Understand how algorithms and digital content shape interactions and learn practical ways to create positive online experiences.
Spot misinformation and AI-generated content, and understand their potential to influence perceptions and fuel real-world harm.
Explore how harmful online content, including material promoting violence against women and girls, can affect friendships, peer dynamics, and wellbeing.
Develop skills to protect their own digital wellbeing and support peers in making safe, informed choices online.
