Ibrahim’s Journey to The Social Switch Project:

After stepping away from an apprenticeship that no longer felt right, Ibrahim was ready for a fresh start. Having launched a clothing brand, he wanted to explore ways to grow his ideas. He joined Elevation+ looking to rebuild his confidence, get support with marketing his brand, and discover a career path that felt genuinely meaningful.

Finding Ibrahim Support:

Ibrahim made the most of every opportunity on offer through Elevation+. Regular mentoring sessions helped him set clear and achievable goals, whether he was refining his CV for future job applications or planning the next social media push for his clothing line. He completed the full range of e‑learning modules available through Elevation+, including the Online Harms and Gender Based Violence content, which sparked lively conversations with peers about safer, more balanced digital spaces.

At the Online Harms Summit, Ibrahim spoke openly to delegates and panellists about media consumption and misinformation, sharing personal reflections on his earliest experiences of social media. He also threw himself into a Diploma in Mental Health, crediting the course with helping him understand how doing work misaligned with his values can impact wellbeing. The course left him feeling more optimistic about his future and interested in exploring a potential career in youth work.

Outcomes:

In just a few months, Ibrahim’s outlook had shifted. His determination to land a role that funds his entrepreneurial ambitions is stronger than ever, and he now approaches job applications with structure and confidence. Mentoring has given him the strategic know‑how to boost the visibility of his clothing brand, while his Diploma studies have equipped him to consider youth‑work opportunities that align with his passion for supporting young people. Most importantly, he reports feeling mentally healthier and far more optimistic about what comes next.

“Everyone needs mentoring to help push that extra bit further than a person was willing to go.” - Ibrahim
